Insurance
We accept assignment from most insurance plans and will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf. At the time of the initial consultation our treatment coordinator will review the insurance information and amount of coverage. Payment options will then be presented to you for the portion of our fee not covered by insurance.
Please bring your insurance information with you to the initial consultation so that we can expedite the payment of claims. Also, if you have a change in insurance benefits or enroll in a dental plan after treatment has started; please be sure to notify the business office so that we may assist you in obtaining any benefits that may be available.
Office Policies
Oral Hygiene will be monitored throughout treatment. A grade will be given at chairside during each adjustment: E=Excellent, G=Good, F=Fair, P=Poor. If necessary, recommendations will be made for improvement. Even while under the care of an orthodontist, it is essential to continue to see a regular dentist at least every six months during treatment.
Transfer Policies
How do we transfer treatment in to Grayson Orthodontics?
We welcome transfer patients to our office. The fee for treatment depends upon the stage of treatment the patient is in, and can't be determined until you are seen for an evaluation by our doctor. If you are transferring from another state or out of our local area, please be sure you have completed all transfer out forms at your previous orthodontist. We will need their name and phone number to call for your records so that we will have them in time for your first visit.
Patients who are currently in treatment at another local orthodontist who desire to transfer treatment to Grayson Orthodontics will be charged the records fee prior to the consultation with our doctor. This payment must be made in cash or by credit card. A request for transfer should be completed and records sent to our office prior to the first adjustment appointment.
What happens if we move during care?
Changing orthodontists during treatment requires additional planning. We will help you make the transition go as smoothly as possible. With the help of a national directory, we can give you a recommendation for an orthodontist in the town or city to which you are moving.
Will a move prolong orthodontic treatment time?
The estimated treatment time will generally take longer when a transfer is made during active treatment. Treatment takes longer because the new orthodontist must do a complete evaluation with recent models, photographs and X-rays. Additionally, it may take a few months for the new orthodontist to become familiar with the patient’s response to treatment.
What effect will a move have on the overall treatment costs?
Treatment costs will generally be increased when there is a transfer of care. The additional expense is related to updating the treatment plan, as well as progress records and the added length in treatment time. Our office will calculate the treatment fee to date and make necessary adjustments to the account.
What should I do after arriving at our new residence?
When you have completed your move, make contact with the new orthodontist as soon as possible to avoid any delay in treatment. The new orthodontist will request a transfer report and records from our office, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
